Relentless assaults: One killed in firing on NATO tanker in Jamrud

At least six lives have been lost in five prior attacks on Nato vehicles in 2013.

One person was killed as yet another Nato vehicle came under attack in Khyber Agency on Sunday.


A cleaner died after unidentified militants on a motorcycle opened fire at an oil tanker on Jamrud Bypass while it was returning from supplying fuel to Nato troops in Afghanistan, said political administration official Farhad Khan.

“Israr Afridi, a resident of Zakha Khel, Landikotal died on the spot,” he said, adding no one else was injured in the incident. The gunmen managed to escape after the assault and a search operation was launched soon after.

At least six lives have been lost in five prior attacks on Nato vehicles in 2013.  On April 14, a driver was shot dead in Teddy Bazaar, Jamrud when militants targeted a vehicle which was returning after offloading supplies in Afghanistan.
