One person was killed as yet another Nato vehicle came under attack in Khyber Agency on Sunday.
A cleaner died after unidentified militants on a motorcycle opened fire at an oil tanker on Jamrud Bypass while it was returning from supplying fuel to Nato troops in Afghanistan, said political administration official Farhad Khan.
“Israr Afridi, a resident of Zakha Khel, Landikotal died on the spot,” he said, adding no one else was injured in the incident. The gunmen managed to escape after the assault and a search operation was launched soon after.
At least six lives have been lost in five prior attacks on Nato vehicles in 2013. On April 14, a driver was shot dead in Teddy Bazaar, Jamrud when militants targeted a vehicle which was returning after offloading supplies in Afghanistan.
