In the nick of time: Shalimar Express escapes a blast

It took the railway workers over four hours in repair work and traffic was restored at around 4 pm.

HYDERABAD:
An upcountry railway track was blown up in Benazirabad district on Sunday, halting the railway traffic for nearly five hours. The explosion caused two-and-a-half feet deep and four-and-a-half feet wide crater and damaged over a four feet section of the track. The Railway Police SHO, Kanju Bheel, said that the blast occurred around 11:30 am near Nawaz Dahiri railway station, Sakrand tehsil, only 15 minutes after Shalimar Express had passed from the track. It took the railway workers over four hours in repair work and traffic was restored at around 4 pm.
