Scores of Government College University, Faisalabad (GCUF), students on Saturday protested against the university’s decision to declare 138 candidates ineligible to appear in bachelor’s degree examinations.
Muhammad Saleem, one of the banned students, said, “We have been declared ineligible only a few days before the exams.”
Saleem said, “If we were not eligible the university should not have accepted us when we submitted the admission forms.” GCUF spokesperson Abid Kamalvi, said, “according to university rules a student can only take the bachelor’s examination two years after passing an FA/FSc exam.”
He said only candidates who did not meet the condition had been declared ineligible.
“The university will refund their fees if they apply for it. Else they can take the exams once they met the requirement,” he added.
