Armed assault: Militants attack house in Kohat

House owner reported that he has no personal enmity nor had he received any threats.

KOHAT:
A house came under attack when unidentified militants hurled a hand grenade and opened fire in Merozai area of Kohat early Thursday morning.

Saddar police official Javaid Hussain said Iftikhar Khan told the police an explosion occurred in the lawn of his house at around 1:30am followed by heavy gunfire which lasted for 15 minutes.

Khan said he later came out of the house armed with an assault rifle and saw that the grenade had damaged a room and destroyed parts of the upper portion of his house.

Hussain said the police went to Khan’s house and collected shrapnel from the grenade and empty bullet shells.

“Khan reported that he has no personal enmity nor had he received any threats,” he added.
