Corporal punishment: Child, 11, whipped with wire for absence

Teacher beat Abbas up with an electricity wire for being absent, says parents.

A complaint was registered against a Quran teacher on Thursday for allegedly beating up an 11-year-old for being absent for two days.

Asif Abbas’s parents told police that they went out of town to attend a wedding.

On Thursday, they said, when the child went to the madarasa, Gulzar Madina, on Ramtali Road, his teacher Qari Shehzad beat him up with an electricity wire for being absent.


They said the child returned home crying in pain.

They said he had bruises all over his body.
