LAHORE:

The caretaker government is bound to implement the Supreme Court orders if the court initiates a treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf, said Senator Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, senior leader of PPP and former president of Supreme Court Bar Association.

Talking to reporters on Tuesday at the Lahore High Court bar premises, he said treason and other cases against Musharraf can only be initiated in civil courts and not in the military courts.

“The retired general has a full right to defend the allegations against him, but he can never become a hero,” Ahsan said.

He added that it was evident that the former army chief detained the judges at their homes and subverted the constitution by imposing emergency.

He demanded from the Supreme Court to treat all notable personalities equally and said it should take notice of the security provided to the Sharif brothers as it did regarding two former premiers Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.

One would have incontrovertible & irrefutable evidence against Aitezaz as well for his trial against article 6.
