While addressing the rally, he said, “Accept my challenge Nawaz Sharif. Let’s have a debate on any TV channel. This debate is very important to bring the truth to light.”
The cricketer-turned-politician also said that PML-N “batted five times, however they will not get a sixth chance”.
“Whoever wants to succeed, succeeds in the first try,” Khan said.
Recalling his time as captain of the Pakistan national cricket team, he said that while he was the captain, no one could defeat him. “No one defeated me for ten years. I left the captaincy myself.”
He promised the supporters that if he came to power, one day will come when people living abroad will come to Pakistan in search of employment, such will be the development in Pakistan.
Earlier, on Monday night, Rehman Malik had also invited Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif to a live debate on topics such as money laundering, morality and article 62 and 63.

Not debating with Imran on tv is a week point of Mr. Shareef. Its good that people have known what is the weakness of their leader. No doubt, Imran should go to the policies but tell me how a leader with this weakness can implement his policies and lead the nation. If he has no courage to speak in front of his competitor do you think he would survive the country. Does this deficiency suit to a leader. A good leader is always a role model for all like Mr. Jinnah. He should be brave, clear from his thoughts, neat and clean, should have courage to convince people. Unfortunately Mr. Shareef does not have such qualities. Imran did a right thing. He saw weakness of his competitor and striked. This is what he should do to dominate him and his party. Field is open for Mr. Shareef also. He can also see any week point in Imran and challenge him. If Imran does not accept the challenge he will not be a leader. Thanks to media which bring the real face of their leaders. People at lease can select their leaders after watching their good and bad qualities. As for as policies are concerned every one can make an ideal policy on the paper. The actual thing is implementation of the policies. It seems that Imran can get his policies implemented because he is bringing new blood in parliament. The young people have good energy and motivation in implementing the policies as compare to the old status quo politicians. We can see Imran's career. He has gets to implement his policies. Shaukat Khanum and NUML University are the examples. I request everyone that this man is different in all. He has some qualities like Quaid-e-Azam and is a last hope of survival of your country. Give your vote honestly. Give it to the person who deserve for it. Love you all Pakistani nation.
This is the problem with Nawaz his ego is just too big he thinks he became prime minister twice now he can’t do debate with an upcoming candidate like IK. Think how people would feel if Obama said to his rival that i was president of USA for past 5 years now I cant do debate with the upcoming candidate us ka caliber nai ….. This is Nawaz Sharif and his party’s attitude.
May be Nawaz Sharif knows that it was the army who made him chief minister and prime minister so does not want to face an emerging inexperienced leader like Imran Khan.

What an excuse that Nawaz Shareef has no time to debate. Its very suprising. You are running your election compaign telling people what you have done in the past and what intend to do in the future and have no time to come on tv, make a debate with the person whose popularity is increasing day by day and demaging you constantly. Television is the forum where people can listen you from all over the country even from all over the world and you have no time to do that. I wonder if this is waistage of time then what is good use of time for your election compaign. Your country where stands at this stage, its the biggest challenge to put it to the right direction. If you are unable to accept a small challenge of Imran then how you can go through with this big challenge. Imran gives and accept challenges because he has proven himself in the past, not only in cricket but also in the service of poor human being. The challenge of Shaukat Khanam was not a small challenge. But he did it. One can just imagine that a poor person who cannot even earn his bread, if suffer from cancer and get a free treatment in an internation standard hospital. Your givernment, your politicions no one could achieve this milestone but Imran did it. He is proud of Pakistan who loves his nation and poor people in reality. He never claimed that he will do everything right in 90 days but yes in 90 days everything could be put to the right direction which he claims. Comparing Imran Khan with the present politicions whose business is running to the right direction instead of Country is unjustified. Love you Imran. Go ahead and achieve your goal in making this country prosperious and respect your nation in all over the world.

The USA democracy is a fraud pure. The pesiential system among two parties! No one in Pakistan is looking fo a parasite! Pakistan needs a Leader equal to and beyond the calabre of Mr Jinnah and Mr Iqbal. They have too many an they shoul be iven the opportunity to come foward, Imran is one of them. I went through the different comments of people about the challenge of Imran Khan to Nawaz Shareef. In my point of view there is no harm if people watch a good debate of the leaders of both parties. What is wrong in doing that? Leave it what happens in America or any other country. It is very simple that you keep your policies in front of people and criticise the polocies of your competitor. It woud be easy for the people in deciding whome to be voted. If some one scared from the debate I think he is not capable enough to face his competitor in front of people. Or he has some week policies which he fears that would not be able to defend/ impress people. Not accepting challenge shows the weakness of a leader. A leader should be strong who should accep challenges and impress people with his views and policies. Credit goes to Imran Khan. There must be debates of all party leaders at tv channels so that people should watch and vote for the better party.
Imran Khan is proven in cricket, yet has no experience in governing. He harps of all the changes he will bring, the sort that would require huge sums of monies to invest in social affairs, education, local bodies, defense, creating employment and much more - how will he achieve it?? He says in 90 days one will see changes, in what world does he live?? The Chinese who have broken all records of bringing development and change to their nation are since the 1990s, still working at it.. I am afraid, from hearing what IK has to say, if he does win in the first place, seeing his huge ego, and ignorance in the ways of economics, socio politics, he will head for failure... not surprised NS isn't wasting his time debating with him!
What? Is Nawaz Sharif scared for a debate? Political debates take place in the US as well. They show what kind of candidates are in the running. Why can't we do the same in Pakistan? Are politicians scared of the truth? C'mon Sharif Bros, c'mon PML N, if you are so truthful, if you are on the right, why are you scared of a 'little party' like PTI?
Imran Khan you are one man show, No doubt you are more capable than Nawaz Shareef but he got better experienced team than yours. Don't put on stake 180 million drowning people you are not prepared to serve.

Take it easy Imran; do not run a Presidential campaign. Pakistan should stick to parliamentary democracy, the membes of parliaments are usualy nominated by the politial parties and the majorty form a Govenment. The Pime Minister of the country is the executve but unlike France and the USA, its power emanates from the majority in the parliament. Your efforts should be to make sure that your party candidates are the right people fom the communities. If your debate performance is better in comparison to Nawz Sharif is not gong to influence a great deal for the man in the rural regions to caste his vote for your nominee if he happens to be unpopular.
Pakistan needs a man with team spirit and not a loner, a political entity with a well laid out manfesto and not the man who preaches for a change simply an empty change. The world in Pakistan do not need Blairs and Obamas any more!! Enough with imposters1!

@Ali Tipu: I too enjoyed the Iliad and Odyssey. Hector, Achilles and Odysseus were amongst the very few characters that consistently acted with honour in wars that were otherwise characterized by deceit and treachery. So I felt sad when Achilles killed Hector.
Having said that, I do not know if comparing Achilles' challenge with that of Imran is a fair comparison. Debates test presence of mind and gift of gab which maybe necessary in a marketing job but not sure they are primary requirements for the position of PM/President of a country.
The key qualities necessary for a good PM/President are integrity, sincerity, ability to collaborate with opponents to navigate the legislative agenda, intelligence, ability to sift good advice from bad etc. Equally important the party's point of view on key issues that are relevant to you is important. These things cannot be tested in a debate. I personally feel debates in US Presidential campaign are beauty contests that have an inappropriate impact on the outcome. For that reason I do not agree that they are necessary or desirable.
This in no way is an endorsement for either Nawaz or Imran. As an Indian, I do not have any say on that. This post is merely a logical rebuttal to what you said since I have a different POV.

It's common for US presidential candidates to hold debates before elections. There's nothing unusual or childlike about it.
It's PML-N that acts like a kid and throws baseless allegations at PTI (for example the allegation about embezzling the zakat funds of SKMH, which was as ridiculous as it gets and got thoroughly debunked).
There should be more than one debate with all major issues discussed. The PPP should be represented by chairman Bilawal not Malik

Seems IK got information that Nawaz Sharif got the signal of winning coming elections. IK's this bid might be a struggle to get a way to change the course of anticipated/ planned results. Over all, Most probability is Nawaz Sharif will make coalition government with MQM from Karachi, some alliances from KPK and Balochistan.
IK is potential opposition leader with PPP.
Nawaz Sharif has strong back from domestic and external factors.
There are many rational conclusions behind this coming set up.

Let NS accept the challenge of IK while bringing someone from PPP, MQM and ANP, that would be some show. Apart from who is good at debating and debating what this is the need of the hour. Parties have election manifestos of scores of pages which no body reads, hence making them futile. But, a plan and policy debate on crucial matters on state television will give a chance for common pakistanis to know who is promising what. A challenge which may prove a positive step for a better Pakistan!!

Live Debate - A right step for true Democracy! Imran Khan has scored points, just by proposing such a healthy initiative. Now the ball is in Nawaz Sharif's court and he should accept the challenge if he has any spine.

I see this stark difference between these two leaders, one is with out any protection talking to the masses and the other one is inside a bullet proof cage, It is a superb idea to debate and really it should be mandatory for leaders to debate and let the people see the difference and decide intelligently instead of spending millions to project their leaders the best. I recall a poor performance by Obama in a debate with Romney almost derailed his re-election bid.
