PESHAWAR: The Khyber Agency chapter of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Monday alleged that the political administration was interfering in the election process. Speaking at the Peshawar Press Club, JI Khyber Agency Amir Muhammad Hassan Shinwari claimed the agency’s Political Agent (PA) Mutahir Zeb Khan and Assistant Political Agent (APA) Jamrud Jehangir Azam Wazir were supporting their favoured candidates for the election. The amir claimed JI flags had been removed from Jamrud and replaced with posters of the candidate of their choice whereas JI workers have also been tortured. He added if the PA is not transferred; the JI along with other parties would launch a protest.
