Reshuffling: Karachi acquires new chief of police

KARACHI:
Captain (Retd) Tahir Naveed was appointed as Karachi’s chief of police on Monday.
He was appointed after Additional IG Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh, who was made the chief of police on March 16, retired from his post. Naveed is also serving as the deputy inspector general of district east.
“I have been assigned the post of chief of police on a temporary basis till the government decides on the new chief,” he said, adding that he would try as much as he can to improve the law and order situation in the city.
