Pakistan to develop hockey in Afghanistan
PHF takes steps to support neighbouring country.
KARACHI:
Following the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) footsteps, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has now taken an initiative to help their Afghan counterparts uplift the game in their country.
According to a senior PHF official, the federation signed a MoU yesterday with the Afghanistan Hockey Federation (AHF) that will see Pakistan help their neighbours in various aspects of the game.
As part of the agreement, several Afghan outfits, including their U16 side, will be permitted to play domestic tournaments in Pakistan, which will aid in raising the standard of Afghan players.
The PHF has also promised providing technical assistance in the restructuring and reformation of the game in Afghanistan on modern scientific lines.
In addition to that, Pakistan will also donate 100 sticks and as many balls to the AHF annually.
