Political crime: Jail the place for Musharraf, says Sana
Former law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan says PML-N would win the upcoming elections.
FAISALABAD:
Former law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said former president Pervez Musharraf will spend his remaining days in jail.
Talking to party workers here on Saturday, he said whoever persuaded Musharraf into returning to the country had done good by the country. He said Musharraf could now give lectures to prisoners rather than speak to audiences abroad.
He said Musharraf’s arrest had shown that there was rule of law in the country. He said Musharraf would prove to be the last man to overthrow democracy in Pakistan.
He said it was ironic that the Chaudhris from Gujrat, who had once vowed to elect him president for 10 times in uniform, were no longer supporting him.
He also said the PML-N would win the upcoming elections. He said the PML-N had not awarded tickets to candidates boasting of wealth.
Lawyers rally, observe thanksgiving day
Multan. A number of lawyers here observed a thanksgiving day on Saturday. They marched from the district bar to Kutchehry Chowk to welcome a court order to send former president Pervez Musharraf on remand.
The rally was called by the Multan Bar Association. It was led by MBA President Mumtaz Noor Tangra and General Secretary Rasheed Ahmed Sulehri.
Addressing the lawyers, Tangra said they expected justice in the Musharraf case. He said the lawyers would not let Musharraf flee like Raymond Davis. He warned of a long march if Musharraf was let off. He said lawyers would keep an eye on Musharraf’s trial.
