Fake Degree: Ex-PML-N MNA granted protective bail

A case was registered against Salman Mohsin Gilani for contesting the election on a fake degree

LAHORE:
Justice Anwarul Haq of the Lahore High Court on Friday granted protective bail to former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Syed Salman Mohsin Gilani in an FIR registered against him for having a fake degree.  The judge granted the bail till April 26, directing Gilani to approach the competent court till that date.  In his petition, Gilani submitted that an FIR had been registered against him in Pakpattan on the order of the Election Commission. He said he feared that the police would arrest him before reaching the competent court. In August 2012, a case was registered against Gilani for contesting the election on a fake degree after the Election Commission sent his documents for verification and found them to be bogus. Gilani contested the general election in 2008 from the NA-165 constituency of Pakpattan.
