“It has been a tradition of the House that after the death of any member, the session is adjourned by the Speaker after fateha is offered,” Sindh Assembly secretary Hadi Bux Buriro told The Express Tribune.
According to him, the items on the agenda are a question-answer session by the Zakat and Ushr Department, the introduction of two bills and the oath-taking ceremony of the MPA nominated by the MQM on the reserved seat, following the resignation of Stephen Asif Peter. Meanwhile, the Awami National Party (ANP) has decided to boycott the session to protest the decision to delay the PS-94 by-elections. The seat fell vacant with Haider’s death.
A delegation of the Pakistan Peoples Party visited ANP leaders to persuade them to end their boycott but did not succeed.
