KARACHI:
After having clinched the silver medal at the Asian Championship last year, the Pakistan under-14 football team is now aiming to improve on its performance and win the event, said coach Hassan Baloch.
Pakistan are set to take part in the event in Iran from April 24 and Baloch hoped that the team would go the ‘extra mile’ this time and win the championship..
“This is going to be Pakistan’s year at the AFC Championship,” Baloch told The Express Tribune.
“Our under-14 team has won more international tournaments than the national team last year. The players I’m training at the camp are the future of Pakistan football, and this will be their first international assignment. I’m sure we can defeat favourites Iran to lift the trophy.”
The final squad will be announced tomorrow with the team due to leave for the tournament on April 21.
