Grenade blast: PPP candidate’s home attacked

Police said it was a probably a home-made grenade.

PESHAWAR: Assailants hurled a grenade into the house of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate for NA-1, Zulfiqar Afghani, in the Gulbahar area on Tuesday afternoon.

The grenade landed on the roof of the house, creating a hole in it. The blast resulted in widespread panic among locals. However, there were no reports of casualties in the explosion. Police said it was a probably a home-made grenade and the aim of the attackers was to spread fear.
