Rawalpindi Commissioner Khalid Masood Chaudhry directed all district coordination officers (DCOs) and district police officers (DPOs) to prepare and implement a security plan to ensure transparent and impartial elections in light of the Election Commission’s instructions, according to a press release.

He issued these instructions while presiding over a meeting of the Divisional Coordination Committee on Tuesday to review arrangements for the upcoming elections.

He added that DCOs should prepare emergency management plans so that arrangements are in place in hospitals and Rescue 1122 and civil defence are on standby.

RPO Naseem Zaman said additional force would be deployed in districts where needed.

He added that instructions had already been conveyed to the DPOs to prepare a list of sensitive polling stations and take security measures. Chaudhry directed that all hospitals be kept on alert in case of emergency.
