Fake degree: April 20 fixed for arguments

The counsel for Deeba sought an adjournment on Monday to study the case file.

LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Monday fixed April 20 for arguments on the pre-arrest bail of former MPA Farah Deeba accused of contesting elections on a fake degree.

The counsel for Deeba sought an adjournment on Monday to study the case file. The judge has earlier granted Deeba bail against bail bonds of Rs50,000. Deputy Election Commission Ishtiaq Ahmed had filed a complaint against Deeba under Sections 199, 200, 417 of the PPC and 94, 78 and 82 of the Representation of the People Act 1976. It said Deeba broke the law by contesting elections to a reserved seat using a fake degree in the previous elections.
