President Asif Ali Zardari’s foster brother, Owais Muzaffar, no longer want to be called ‘Tappi’, the alias that he is arguably better known by.
“Please do not call me ‘Tappi’ as I am Owais Muzaffar,” he said on Monday while having a chat with journalists at Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) media cell. Muzaffar is contesting the upcoming elections from PS-88, Ghora Bari, in Thatta. He was confident that the people of Thatta would make him win the seat handily. He said that the people in constituency had complained about the highhandedness of the police and that he would try to address the issue when he gets elected to power.

Muzaffar added that he would free people in Thatta from the “tyranny” of the Shirazi group, which holds significant political clout there. “Thatta has been the fort of PPP and I will reclaim it,” he said, adding that during its tenure, the party had worked for the downtrodden people who would vote for it again on the basis of its performance.
On the occasion, Shahzado and Zahid Gaho who were earlier affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz announced that they had rejoined PPP. Expressing their regret over leaving PPP in the first place they said, “Our family members were diehard workers of the party - they only left it because of a misunderstanding with a few leaders.”
