Dispute over drugs: Two brothers killed, one injured

A clash broke out between the groups of Muhammad Hayat and Bakhtaj over the distribution of drugs.

Two brothers were killed and one other was injured when a clash erupted over a botched drug deal in Mayar area of Mardan on Monday.



Police official Zakir Khan said they received a call at around 10am from residents of Mohallah Amukhel informing them about the incident.

Sub-inspector Zahir Shah, who went to inspect the site later, said a clash broke out between the groups of Muhammad Hayat and Bakhtaj over the distribution of drugs. In the ensuing violence, Hayat’s brothers, 22-year-old Akbar Ali and 33-year-old Sabz Ali, were gunned down while Hayat sustained injuries.

The bodies, along with the injured, were shifted to Mardan Medical Complex. Reports revealed the deceased had sustained multiple gunshots. Police later raided the residence of the accused, Bakhtaj, but he had managed to escape.
