MQM Rabta Committee claimed that in a bid to sabotage the party's election campaign rangers officials in plain dress are harassing the people visiting MQM offices.
Earlier in a press conference on Thursday, the party claimed that instead of taking action against murderers involved in the killing of their leaders and workers, police and law enforcement agencies have launched a crackdown against the MQM.

OK all u people from Punjab supporting their own Rangers just ask the rangers to apprehend Baba Ladla of Lyari who has been nominated in the FIR lodged under the instruction of the Supreme court .Lets see how impartial they are .
Dear MQM, there is no use of crying over spilt milk
Being a karachiti: I feel this operation is hitting the right spot...keep going rangers, we dont care abt people shouting mohajir, punjabi etc....
what a joke? after 5 years of sit in the govt they now realize, that establishment is acting against them. MQM and PML(Q) are the main stream pro establishment parties.
@Cynic: What Hogwash! Rangers are targeting every and any political party that has militant wings. If you call this a 'political' role, then I would like to see all law enforcement agencies act this political. People like you want Karachi to keep sinking until it is nothing but a wasteland. Educated Karachittes have been taken hostage by mafias and militant groups and you're worried about Rangers acting politically?
Really?? People still beleive as to why Karachi pays more taxes is beacuse of its port?? WELL, IT IS NOT ONLY THE PORT!! Ortganizations have long had their head offices established in Karachi. Some have their Head offices here in Karachi since after the independence... Why.. Well, Because Pakistan's most educated chunk of populace lived in Karachi.. It had the most number of educational institutes as well as a more developed infrastructure. There are several other reasons that I can pen down here, but they would not fit in the comment box! And that is the reason Karachi has the status of most tax-generatng city.
As of now, the role of Rangers in Karachi is political and they are acting under the political pretexts of some groups.
Seeing from the eyes of bias does this to people and they tend to ignore the ground realities which only Karachiites can come to know of instead of people from every other part of the country!
Being an economist and talking such things.. I can see the level of bias in people's minds..
It is not 1992 when establishment said Mqm only 12 seats, So Any misadventure of establishment can lead to serious repurcussions.
Yes, any and every attempt to cleanse Karachi of weapons will be met with such reactions from not only MQM, but also from ANP, and PPP.
Plz kindly be more knowledgeable abt the provinces. If someone is GB imports a container worth of goods from any other country he would have to pay the taxes at the port, hence KHI would have its image as the number one revenue generation city. I agree with all the points Mr Shaami made. What is creating the divide is the unjust distribution of electricity and gas amongst the provinces. Punjab has been the worst hit and its industry continue to decline. And you so called TAX PAYING KARACHIITES are getting 650 MW of Punjab's electricity. Even now in Lahore there is 12 hours of load shedding.
Rangers is a professional institution, do not malign them, let them do their job. They are performing well at the moment. Everyone is Pakistan knows the PARTY with the militant groups.
@Shaami: No one is happy with Punjab, not even South Punjab. There must be a reason no?
hint: it has to do with stealing resources
@Shaami: Karachi gives almost 50% DIRECT tax of Pakistan (doesn't include indirect tax or customs duty). Secondly, GDP of Karachi is almost 30% of Pakistan's GDP. Karachi's quota in CSS is less than 3%. Karachi's quota in elected NA members is 20/272 = 7.35%. Karachi's population (due to recent migration from all over Pakistan) is 22/180 = 12%
Both CSS & NA quota for Punjab is over 50%. Hopefully now you can judge for yourself on who's being fair and who's not
Gone are the 1960s when agriculture used to be our backbone with 60% GDP based on agro products, now it's about 20%. Manufacturing is around 25%. Pakistan's GDP nowadays (around 50-60%) is services based and most of that is located in Karachi.
It is a very serious issue which must be taken by EC and CJ. MQM is a only party which has representation of educated middle class persons. It is hghly suspicious the intentions and role of rangers in free and fair elections.
Thats why MQM cry to bring the army in Karachi so that they sabotage Army's image further.
Let the rangers do their duty fairly and see Karachi will be in peace again.
So the history is in making, establishment of islamabad and rawalpindi is in their full-swing over dismantling the rights of Karachiiets. they have done this before and and they are doing this again by arresting hundreds of innocents and charging them with fake cases. Rangers are conducting raids and operations in the most peaceful towns of karachi rather than taking action in the areas like Liyari and manopeer instead, where two of their own men were beheaded. Ask anyone in karachi and they will tell u about the strong holds of TTP, which is mangopeer and katti pahari but no action is being taken in those areas because our law and enforcement agencies know about the backlash from these terrorists and are well afraid of that. i am sorry to say but law and enforcement agencies in Sind are biased, racist and terrorist themselves. Soon their incompetence will turn karachi into Kheyber and Orakzai agency.
4 years ago Altaf Hussain warned LEAs about talibanization in Karachi. No reaction Attacks increase. No reaction Banks robbed. No reaction 9000 Karachiites killed. No reaction Election coming near. LEAs spring into action ...and raid peaceful areas.
Terrorists from TTP, PAC, LeJ, etc still roam free and terrorize the city with extortion chits & murder. Who do we blame? I beg the establishment please don't turn Karachi into Baluchistan. You've succeeded turning it into FATA to boost industries in Punjab, we know and we don't mind. Now for Pakistan's sake all we want is peace. We want you to take action against banned terrorist outfits instead of arming them, please don't meddle into local politics by clipping wings of the only political party that stands for the rights of Karachi!
Wow, these MQM people are so attention seekers.
I don't know when will get rid of these dramas!
