Accident: Two school students drown in canal
Some passers-by jumped into the canal to save the boys, but they could not find them.
BAHAWALPUR:
Two boys drowned in the Abbasia Link Canal near Rahim Yar Khan. The bodies were recovered by a Rescue 1122 team several hours later. Rescue officials said matric students Arif and Kamran, both residents of the Jamia Abdullah bin Masood Colony, were bathing in the canal, when one of them lost his balance and drowned. Witnesses said his friend drowned trying to help him. Some passers-by jumped into the canal to save the boys, but they could not find them. They then called the Rescue service, who recovered the bodies.
