Another dejected loyalist: Sials also decide to go solo, desert PPP
Ghulam Sarwar Sial has been denied a ticket in favour of Haji Altaf Unnar.
SUKKUR:
Former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Ghulam Sarwar Sial and his nephew Tariq Sial announced they have closed their doors on the party forever.
Addressing a press conference at his residence in Sachal Colony, Larkana, Ghulam Sarwar criticised the PPP leadership. Despite serving the party through thick and thin, he said he was denied a ticket for PS-35 Bakrani in favour of Haji Altaf Unnar, who was until recently a bitter foe of the party.
He complained that ever since Unnar joined the party, the leadership had sidelined him and this attitude has forced him to quit.
On this occasion, Tariq also announced that he, too, was parting ways with the party and would contest NA-205 and PS-35 as an independent candidate. The Sials also announced that not only would they contest elections against the PPP but also support candidates standing against the PPP on any other constituency.
A dejected Ghulam Sarwar made it clear that he will never return to the PPP but is open to joining any other party. He also said that he would not take part in politics but would support his nephew. Talking to The Express Tribune, Ghulam Sarwar said that yesterday’s bitter foe and most corrupt man has become a blue-eyed boy of the leadership.
He said that so far he hasn’t been contacted by any other party but will consider any offer, if contacted.
Ghulam Sarwar’s other nephew, PPP Dokri taluqa president Suhail Anwar Sial, said that his uncle and brother have the right to decide their future but vowed that he would remain with the PPP.
