The 10-party alliance in Sindh is fielding joint candidates to defeat the PPP and Hyderabad is no exception. Although the candidates of many parties in the alliance have submitted forms for NA 221, PS 47 and PS 50, a consensus is very likely to emerge as the election day approaches.
Qaumi Awami Tehreek President Ayaz Palijo is considered the strongest candidate for PS-47 Qasimabad, also the headquarters of the nationalist party. Similarly, the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional candidates Abdul Lateef Qureshi and Syed Shahabuddin Shah are being considered as most likely to get the alliance’s support for NA 221 and PS 50.
“The PPP has failed to improve the standard of life or provide roads, hospitals and education infrastructure in both these areas. There is no clean drinking water available in Qasimabad and Hyderabad Rural is not even linked to the water supply and drainage network of the Water and Sanitation Agency,” said Palijo. “The people will punish the PPP for failing them besides its treachery against Sindh.”
