Threat averted: Bomb planted outside ASI’s house defused

Five kilogrammes of explosives were defused by the Banamarhi police in Sharifabad area early Friday morning.
The explosive device was planted outside the house of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Gul Nawaz, who is currently deployed in traffic police. Fortunately, it was spotted in time and the bomb disposal squad was called in.
Last month, an advertising agency’s office in the same area was attacked by unidentified gunmen who planted a bomb outside the building and fired shots at the main gate.
The agency claimed some men had been demanding extortion, threatening of dire consequences if the advertising agency’s owners do not comply.
