2 women die as bus overturns

Two women die while six men are injured when a speeding bus overturns in SITE.

KHAIRPUR/ KARACHI: Two women died while six men were injured when a speeding bus overturned in SITE on Wednesday morning. The deceased were identified as Reshma, 65, and Zulekha, 45, while Nasir, Haroon, Adeel, Ali, Murad and Arshad were injured.

The bodies were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities while the injured are under treatment at the same hospital.

Family killed in collision

A trailer hit a donkey-cart on the National Highway near Khairpur, killing a couple and their two daughters. The trailer was heading towards Lahore from Karachi when a donkey cart came in its way. The victims were identified as Mumtaz, his wife Hasna, eight year-old Kiran and six-year-old Akshi. Another pedestrian was also injured in the accident and was shifted to a hospital. The driver and cleaner of the trailer managed to escape. Police impounded the trailer but no FIR has been registered yet. additional input from ppi
