Kurram-tangi dam: Authorities asked to acquire land within one month

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Shaukatullah on Wednesday urged the political administration of North Waziristan Agency to complete the land acquisition process for Kurram-Tangi Dam project within a month.
Presiding over a meeting at the Governor House, Shaukatullah said the Rs500 million allocated for the land will be misappropriated if not utilised soon. He added negotiations over the land should be be held in consultation with the respective tribes.
Shaukatullah stressed proper arrangements have to be ensured in line with the aspirations of locals in order to make this project possible. He maintained the dam will generate jobs in the tribal agency along with improving agricultural productivity.
Provincial caretaker minister Younas Khan Marwat, Senator Saleem Saifullah Khan, Bannu Commissioner Ameeruddin Khan and other concerned authorities were also present.
