Development: Govt to release Rs1b for Karachi’s industrial areas

Caretaker Provincial Minister for Industries, Khalid Tawab, while presiding over a high-level meeting in his office here on Tuesday said in a statement that the federal government would soon release a fund of Rs1 billion for development work in Karachi’s industrial areas.



The Minister called for improving the law and order situation in the industrial areas, bringing about immediate betterment of infrastructure in the industrial zone for enhanced industrial development and incentives for setting up of more new industries.

He informed that the federal government would release the Rs1 billion funds for development work on infrastructure in the city’s industrial areas in four industrial zones: Korangi, North Karachi, Federal B Area and Landhi. Tawab said that the caretaker government would undertake every step for further activating the Department of Industries.
