FAISALABAD:
Najam Ahmad Shah took over charge as the district coordination officer on Tuesday.
Shortly after taking charge, he met the district election coordination committee to review matters relating to conducting free, fair and impartial elections in the district.
Shah directed the officers concerned to conduct a joint study regarding the identification of sensitive polling stations in the district.
He also directed the union council secretaries to survey the polling stations in their areas and submit a report on the availability and lack of facilities there.
He urged that the election code of conduct be implemented and action taken against those involved in wall chalking, display of oversized banners, billboards and posters, display of weapons and holding public meetings without permission.
