President’s One Day Cup: Khurram’s ton steers PQA to four-wicket win

Opener helps team to successfully chase target set by SNGPL.

Opener Khurram Manzoor registered an impressive century to help PQA complete a successful run-chase as they defeated SNGPL by four wickets in their President’s Cup One-day Tournament Group A match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Set a target of 239, PQA’s chase revolved around Manzoor’s 110-ball 115 with three sixes and 13 boundaries as they made 241 for six in 43.2 overs. Umar Amin chipped in with 32, while Asad Ali took two wickets.

Earlier, SNGPL posted 238 for seven in their 50 overs with Azhar Ali missing out on a century as he was dismissed for 95 while Mohammad Rizwan scored 82. Mohammad Talha and Amin both bagged two wickets apiece.

Wapda win as Rana Naved bowls off-spin

Meanwhile, Riffatullah once again starred for Wapda with 107 as he helped his team overpower UBL by 76 runs here at the National Stadium.

Wapda amassed 352 for five as Riffatullah hit 13 strikes to the fence while Saad Nasim (75) and Aamer Sajjad (62) cracked half-centuries.


In reply, UBL could only manage 276 for eight in 50 overs as Saad Surkhail top-scored with 84, hitting 10 boundaries. Kashif Naveed claimed three wickets, while left-arm pacer Nasir Malik took two wickets.

Interestingly, captain Rana Navedul Hasan took a solitary scalp as he bowled his initial three overs as a fast-bowler and then bowled off-spin for his remaining seven overs with no results.

Sharjeel blitz powers ZTBL to emphatic victory

In another match, Sharjeel Khan hit a quickfire 90 to help ZTBL to an eight-wicket win against KRL as they made 203 for two in 36.2 overs while replying to KRL’s 200 at the LCCA Ground.

Elsewhere, Ahmed Shehzad (61) and Asad Shafiq (57) scored half-centuries as HBL defeated SBP by three wickets at the Shaheed Mohatarma Benazir Bhutto International Cricket Stadium in Ghari Khuda Bakhsh.
