Rashid Latif takes back resignation

Former captain resumes duties as chief selector of Karachi region.

“KCCA secretary Ejaz Farooqi rejected my resignation,” said Rashid Latif. “On his request, I am resuming my duties with the Karachi region as chief selector."

KARACHI:

Former skipper Rashid Latif withdrew his resignation and resumed his duties as chief selector of Karachi region yesterday on the insistence of the Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA).

Latif had stepped down from his post following a dismal performance of Karachi Dolphins in the recently concluded Super-Eight T20 event in Lahore where they crashed out in the group stages.

“KCCA secretary Ejaz Farooqi rejected my resignation,” said Latif. “On his request, I am resuming my duties with the Karachi region as chief selector.

“For the betterment of the Karachi teams, I will need qualified and competent coaching and support staff. I will discuss these issues with the PCB management in Lahore.”

Karachi Blues won the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy title while Zebras shared the one-day cup title with Lahore Lions under Latif’s supervision.
