Kayani assures CEC of army's full support for holding elections
Security arrangements pertaining to the general elections discussed.
The Army chief met with the CEC in Islamabad on Friday.

The Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani met with the Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retired) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim on Friday.
According to a press release issued by ECP, the two discussed security arrangements pertaining to the general elections.
During the meeting in Islamabad, Gen Kayani assured the Chief Election Commissioner that the army fully supported the efforts being made by the election commission to hold free, fair and credible elections in the country and that all possible assistance will be extended to create an environment conducive to achieve this objective.
Justice (r) Ebrahim said that at this critical juncture of our history all the state organisations are expected to play their respective role to serve the national interest by holding transparent and peaceful elections as enshrined in the Constitution and as expected by the people.
Secretary Defence and Secretary ECP were also present at the occasion.
