Shootout: Cop injured, two robbers arrested

The injured constable was taken to Civil Hospital, where he was reported to be out of danger.

GUJRANWALA: A policeman was injured on Wednesday in a shootout with robbers. Two men, who the police said were robbers, were arrested. Saddar police said the shootout took place in Talwandi Moosa Khan when two robbers, identified as Ghulam Rasool and Arsalan, were fleeing after depriving a family of 100 grams of gold jewellery and mobile phones. A police patrol saw them and cahsed them. On seeing the police, one of the robbers shot at the police van, injuring a constable. The police shot back and the motorcycle the robbers were riding skidded and they fell and were captured. The injured constable was taken to Civil Hospital, where he was reported to be out of danger. Stolen items were recovered from the suspects. Police said they also seized a dagger and a pistol from them.
