SWABI:

Following a seat adjustment agreement between four religious parties in Swabi, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Nazaryati (JUI-N) also decided to join the alliance on Tuesday.

In a meeting held at Darul Uloom Panjpir between JUI-N provincial chief Maulana Khalil Ahmad Mukhlis and Maulana Tayyab, the JUI-N leader said his party will be part of the alliance, which includes Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Muttahida Dini Mahaz (MDM), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) and Jamaat-e-Ishaat-e-Tauheed Wa Sunnah (JATWS), in the upcoming polls.

Talking to journalists, Mukhlis said all religious parties will contest the elections on one platform and this alliance will bring peace and prosperity to the region.

Reluctant at first, Tayyab said he decided to contest the elections to help sincere people like Maulana Khalil. “By sending pious people to the assemblies, Islamic Shariah will be imposed and the legislation will be formed according Quranic teachings,” said Tayyab.

Every member in the alliance will take part in door-to-door campaigns to convince people to elect Islam-loving people to lead them, he added.
