Later, Sub Inspector Shafiq and Station House Officer Umar Daraz registered a case against them on charges of carrying illegal weapons and helping a proclaimed offender flee from the police station.
The ‘suspects’ had later filed a complaint with the regional police officer requesting him to order an inquiry into the allegations. The RPO had then ordered an inquiry into the complaint. The inquiry had established their innocence and RPO Tariq Masood Yaseen suspended SHO Daraz and the SI Shafiq.
