Majid registers second win in Asian event

Pakistan’s Muhammad Majid Ali started the second day of his 14th Asian U21 Snooker Championship campaign by winning his second match of the competition yesterday in Indore, India.

Majid thrashed local boy Nitesh Madan 4-0 at the Indore Tennis Club, not allowing his opponent to chalk up points in the first two sets, winning with frames of 54-03, 85-00, 80-41 and 77-09.


He had not started off well in the event as he was beaten in the first match by China’s Zhou Yelong 4-1 with frame scores of 62-28, 124(100)-77, 77-84, 89-34 and 100-0. However, he redeemed himself by winning the second match against Thailand’s Boonyarit Keattikul with a similar scoreline. Pakistan’s other participant in the event is Hamza Akbar, who is yet to play his matches of group C.
