Interim federal cabinet to be sworn in on Tuesday

Caretaker prime minister approves interim federal cabinet of 15 members.

The interim federal cabinet of 15 members has been approved and will take oath on Tuesday, Express News reported.

The cabinet was selected by caretaker prime minister Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso and consists of people whom the caretaker personally knows or has worked with in the past.

President Asif Ali Zardari will travel to Islamabad tomorrow to administer their oaths to be sworn into office.

The interim cabinet includes:

1. Arif Nizami

2. Shahzada Jamal

3. Shahzada Ahsan Ashraf Shaikh

4. Abdul Malik Kasi

5. Dr Sania Nishtar

6. Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel

7. Malik Habib

8. Ahmer Bilal Soofi

9. Dr Musaddaq Malik

10. Maqbool H H Rahmatoolah

11. Asadullah Mandokhel

12. Dr Younis Soomro

13. Dr Mushtaq Khan

14. Sohail Wajahat H Siddique

15. Mir Hassan Dhomki

Wow..Sohail Wajahat. Brought back memories. I knew him when he was Field Service Engineer in Siemens. He ended up being the first Pakistani MD of Siemens. People had different opinions about. Not the sharpest or super intelligent type, but certainly knew how to climb the corporate ladder..using any means available.

Hopefully, he will get the power ministry. Definitely knows more about generation and distribution than our ex Raja Rental.

Hmm.. Previous governement was overly critisized from time to time for having a large cabinet but this is also not a small one by any means. Even being a caretaker cabinet the number looks far more greater. Having such a large cabinet increases my fear of what many other people also say that eletions may be delayed and this caretaker setup would be in power till the negotiations with IMF and departuture of US from Afghanistan. I hope this is not true and does not become true as we badly need this democratic transition to occur smoothly and on time. For a better Pakistan!!
