ECP extends nomination papers deadline to midnight
Earlier, the deadline was extended till 4pm today.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) extended the deadline for submission of nomination papers from 4pm today to midnight, Express News reported on Sunday.
The commission started accepting nomination papers from March 24 and stated it would do so until March 29. At the behest of various political parties, the ECP extended the deadline by two days till March 31.
Yesterday, only around 3,600 forms had been filed with returning officers (ROs).
ECP officials had maintained there would be no further extension for the filing of nomination papers and the ROs would begin scrutinising the forms from April 1 onwards.
A scrutiny cell – established by the ECP - consists of the representatives of the commission, National Database and Registration Authority, Federal Board of Revenue, State Bank of Pakistan and National Accountability Bureau.
