Ensuring transparency: ECP to train electoral officers, staff

A mock polling exercise will be conducted to train over 700,000 presiding officers.

KARACHI:
The Election Commission of Pakistan has launched an initiative to train polling staff for the upcoming elections. The programme is being conducted with support from the United Nations Development Programme and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems. It is aimed at increasing transparency and public confidence in the elections by using electoral rolls with voters’ photographs, new counting forms and tamper evident bags. A mock polling exercise will be conducted to train over 700,000 presiding officers, assistant presiding officers and polling officers.
