KARACHI:
Islamabad Academy FC defeated Al Faisal FC 1-0 in the Naveedul Hassan Memorial Football Tournament at the G-9/2 football ground in Islamabad yesterday.
Muhammad Haider scored the winner for Islamabad Academy FC, while Al-Faisal FC, who defeated them in their last match earlier this week, failed to equalise in the second-half.
With the win, Islamabad Academy FC qualified for the quarter-finals which will begin today. Whereas, Mehran FC will play Haidery FC in the first quarter-final and Huma FC will take on Ghauri FC in the second match today. The month-long tournament in Islamabad is featuring 36 clubs from the city. The final of the event will take place on April 8.
