No TTP presence in south Punjab: RPO

Regional Police Officer Ghulam Rasool Zahid has denied Rahim Yar Khan is the headquarters of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan as claimed by former interior minister Rehman Malik.
Addressing a press conference at the office of the District Police Officer in RY Khan on Thursday, he said there was no TTP presence in south Punjab.
He said rangers would be called in in all three districts of Bahawalpur division RY Khan, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar – to help with election-day security.
He said army would be on standby. He said 31 polling stations of Rahim Yar Khan were sensitive.
