KARACHI: An under-trial prisoner, out on parole despite his involvement in two murder cases, has been arrested in connection with the murder of Lyari gang war leader Arshad Pappu, the police claimed on Thursday.
SP Lyari Najam Tareen said that the suspect, Shahjehan Baloch, was nominated for murdering Pappu in an FIR registered by Pappu’s wife.
He added that the suspect was earlier arrested by the Crime Investigation Department in an operation last year, adding that two murder cases, FIR 120/2012 and 64/2012, were already registered against him.
He was later released on parole for medical treatment and admitted to the Lyari General Hospital.
