Changing loyalties: Former MPA leaves PPP for MQM
Ex-MPA Syed Shafiq Hussain Shah has resigned from his basic membership of the Pakistan People’s Party.

Former MPA Syed Shafiq Hussain Shah has resigned from his basic membership of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), to join Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
It is believed that he developed differences with the PPP leadership, due to which he decided to changed the party. Shah, who hails from Thatta, will now contest polls from NA238 and PS-86 on MQM’s ticket, for which he has already received the nomination forms.
He was elected from PS-71 Thatta-3 in by-elections in January 1991, as an independent candidate, after which he joined the PPP.
