In broad daylight: Bakery robbed; woman looted

A woman was deprived of cash and valuables and a bakery robbed in separate incidents during the last 24 hours.


In the first incident, Mehmood Ayaz reported to the Racecourse police that armed motorcyclists snatched a hand bag containing cash and valuables from his sister-in-law when she was on the way back home after shopping.


Meanwhile, a bakery was robbed in the same locality. Muhammad Arshad Khan lodged a complaint with the police that two armed robbers had entered his bakery and held him hostage.

They looted Rs50,000 and other valuables and fled after locking him inside, he said while talking to The Express Tribune.

Separate cases have been registered against the robbers but no arrests or recoveries have been made yet, said an official.
