Football: Islamabad Academy win on penalties
According to an official of Islamabad Football Association, tournament is using penalty rule in league matches as well
KARACHI:
Islamabad Academy FC defeated Quaid-i-Azam FC 5-4 on penalty kicks in the Naveedul Hassan Football Tournament at the G-9/2 football ground yesterday.
After going goalless in normal time, the match went to penalties. Islamabad Academy held their nerves to clinch the game from the spot.
According to an official of the Islamabad Football Association, the tournament is using the penalty rule in the league matches as well.
The event is featuring 36 clubs from Islamabad and the final will take place on April 8.
Meanwhile, in today’s match, Ghauri FC will take on Millat FC.
