LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge has directed Shan Taseer, son of Salmaan Taseer, to approach the police for the registration of a case against Amna Taseer, the slain governor’s wife, for alleged fraud of Rs1.54 billion.

The judge disposed of Shan Taseer’s petition on Tuesday and told him to approach the courts again if the police refuse to register a case. Earlier, Gulberg police told the court that the petitioner had not approached them with an application. Shan Taseer had alleged that Amna Taseer had forged a proxy form to take over 72,034,306 shares that belonged to Salmaan Taseer’s heirs.
