LAHORE:
An election tribunal of the Lahore High Court consisting of Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Tuesday found former PML-N MPA and parliamentary secretary for religious affairs Iftikhar Ahmad Khan guilty of contesting the last elections with a fake degree, thus disqualifying him from the upcoming polls.
Khan was elected to the Punjab Assembly in 2008 from PP-81, Jhang-IX. Iqbal Khan, an independent candidate who lost the elections at that constituency, had alleged that the MPA had a fake BA degree. The tribunal had reserved its verdict last November.
