KARACHI:
The 14th death anniversary of Mir Murtaza Bhutto, the founder of the Pakistan Peoples Party Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) and son of the late prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, was observed at the Peoples Secretariat on Monday.

The PPP Karachi chapter arranged a small gathering to pay tribute to Murtaza, followed by a Quran Khawani.

Provincial minister Rafiq Ahmed Engineer, advisers to the Sindh chief minister Waqar Mehdi, Rashid Rabbani and Najmi Alam and PPP workers were present on the occasion. Meanwhile, PPP-SB leaders and activists held a simple gathering in the town of Garhi Khuda Buksh.

The party’s chairperson and Murtaza’s widow, Ghinwa Bhutto, and his son, Zulfikar Junior, attended the gathering after offering prayers at the PPP-SB founder’s grave at their family’s ancestral graveyard.

However, Murtaza’s daughter, Fatima Bhutto, who is abroad these days, could not attend the event.

Later, while addressing party members at al-Murtaza House in Larkana, Ghinwa said that there was no justice in the country as those responsible for Murtaza’s murder were still free.
