Blast in Peshawar locality spreads panic
The explosion was followed by firing adding to the panic in the area.
PESHAWAR:
A low intensity bomb exploded outside the office of a local advertisement company on Dorra Road within the jurisdiction of Banamari police station late on Monday evening.
The homemade bomb had been planted outside the office of Appolo advertising company’s office. It went off with a big bang, prompting the guards inside the building to fire in the air which further fuelled panic in the area.
Local police rushed to the area. No loss of life was reported.
Police said that the blast was aimed at creating panic among the local people and it occurred at some distance from the main gate of the office. However, the explosion was powerful enough to damage the gate.
Officials said that a search operation had been launched in the area.
