Roadside bomb: Two FC officials killed in IED blast

Two Frontier Corps (FC) officials were killed on Monday when a roadside bomb exploded in Damadola area of Mamoond tehsil, Bajaur Agency.

Asghar Hussain and Adil Khan were clearing roads for improvised explosive devices (IED) for a security forces convoy that was patrolling the area when the explosion occurred leaving the two men severely injured, said political administration official Umer Syed. He added the two officials were rushed to Agency Headquarters Hospital (AHH) in Khar.




AHH Medical Superintendent Dr Riaz Khan said the FC personnel were shifted to the operation theatre for surgery, but succumbed to their wounds an hour later. “They had multiple wounds on sensitive areas of the body.”

FC personnel surrounded the area and launched a search operation following the incident. However, no arrests were made till the filing of this report.
