Incessant Rain: Roof collapse leaves five dead

KARAK:

Five members of a family were killed and three others injured on Saturday when a house rooftop collapsed due to heavy downpour in Karak.

Sharif Khattak , the neighbour of the ill-fated family said that around 9:15pm the house of Ghulam Mustafa, a resident of Tabbi Khwa collapsed due to continuous heavy downpour adding that he along with other residents rushed for rescue work. After hours of struggle, they pulled out nine injured family members and took them to the district hospital.

The hospital doctor declared five dead and three critically injured.  The deceased were identified as Ghulam Mustafa, his wife Saeeda, 11-year-old Ghulam Murtaza, four-year-old Adil and Fayaz.
